The Town of Alpine hosted the representatives from the Wyoming Business Council. The Business Council made a site visit to the towns proposed water project area.

In February the Town of Alpine applied for a Business Ready Community Grant. If awarded, the grant will provide funding for the construction of a potable water transmission line across the Snake River. According to Alpine Mayor Kennis Lutz, the March 7 site inspection covered details that relate to the proposed project.

The project calls for constructing a transmission line from the towns water system to the north side of the river. The town has more than enough water to meet the additional demand, Lutz said. The additional service area will enable the town to run its water system more efficiently, he added.

According to Bob Ablondi of Rendezvous Engineering, the Town of Alpine has three wells that currently are running at approximately 20 percent of capacity.

It was a very positive meeting, said Mayor Lutz. This project is something that is good for both sides of the river.
