21-01-2012 18:06 Guest Mike Adams of NaturalNews.com will discuss breakthrough research that suggests chemotherapy can be more dangerous than helpful, as findings show it can multiply the chances of tumors and the presence of cancer in patients. SL Baker http://www.infowars.com http://www.prisonplanet.tv January 19, 2012 When natural health advocates warn against mainstream medicine's arsenal of weapons used to fight cancer, including chemotherapy and radiation, their concerns often revolve around how these therapies can weaken and damage a person's body in numerous ways. But scientists are finding other reasons to question some of these therapies. It turns out that while chemotherapies may kill or shrink tumors in the short term, they may actually be causing malignancies to grow more deadly in the long term. For example, Natural News previously reported: (www.naturalnews.com that scientists at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Comprehensive Cancer Center and UAB Department of Chemistry are currently investigating the very real possibility that dead cancer cells left over after chemotherapy spark cancer to spread to other parts of the body (metastasis). And now comes news that a little-explored specific cell type, the pericyte, found in what is called themicroenvironmentof a cancerous tumor actually may halt cancer progression and … Continue reading

Drugs search into crash with pregnant woman in Chelsea

Posted: Published on February 7th, 2012

POLICE are investigating whether drugs were a factor in a four-car crash involving a pregnant woman and a 15-month-old child in Chelsea. The incident occurred when a red Mazda sedan travelling south on Station St near Embankment Dr veered into oncoming traffic and collided head on with a BMW sedan about 4.40pm on January 28. A Hyundai 4WD driving north crashed into the rear of the BMW and then into a parked Holden Commodore. A pregnant 35-year-old woman, 33-year-old man and a 15-month-old child travelling in the Hyundai, all from Edithvale, were taken to hospital by ambulance but suffered no injuries. The Mazda driver was not injured but was taken to Frankston Hospital for observation, while the two occupants in the BMW were uninjured. Sgt Sven Koernig said police were checking into the state of mind of the Mazda driver during the crash and whether drugs were involved. β€œWe’re investigating all avenues with this incident,” Sgt Koernig said. Drug testing W.Va. coal miners up for review

Posted: Published on February 7th, 2012

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) β€” Testing coal miners for drugs presents both benefits and burdens to West Virginia regulators, the House and Senate Judiciary committees heard Monday as lawmakers pursue measures this session to improve mine safety. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has proposed a wide-ranging mine safety bill that includes a mandatory, random screening program for all mine jobs requiring certification. The random testing should annually screen half of any employer's certified workforce, the legislation says. The two committees launched a two-day series of hearings Monday for that bill and others. Lawmakers seek to focus on proposals that respond to the 2010 Upper Big Branch mine explosion. The worst U.S. coal mining disaster in four decades, the underground Raleigh County blast killed 29 miners. The second hearing is slated for 2 p.m.Tuesday in the House of Delegates Chamber. Eugene White, acting deputy director of the state Office of Miners' Health Safety and Training, estimated that drugs played a role in around 200 of the 5,413 complaints and incidents his agency investigated last year. "Most of the complaints we get, believe it or not, a lot of them are from the wives of the miner," White told the committees. "He's home for … Continue reading

Prison visitor hid drugs in nappy

Posted: Published on February 7th, 2012

7 February 2012 Last updated at 10:15 ET A woman who hid 28g of cannabis resin and 292 diazepam tablets in her baby's nappy during a prison visit, has been given a suspended sentence. The drugs were found by prison staff at Magilligan Prison when Stacey Grimley, 21, removed the nappy from a bag which was about to be scanned in May 2011. Grimley, from Garvaghy Road, Portadown, was trying to smuggle the drugs to her prisoner boyfriend in May of last year. She was given an 18-month jail sentence suspended for two years. Londonderry Crown Court Judge Piers Grant was told that Grimley, who had no previous convictions, was pressurised by her then boyfriend who is the father of her daughter into bringing the drugs to the prison. A police officer told Judge Grant that the former boyfriend, who has several drugs convictions, had told her he had to pay off a debt to other prisoners. He said he believed he would be stabbed if he did not pay off the debt. Judge Grant said it was "with the most considerable hesitation" that he was imposing the suspended sentence.
