James earns Doctor of Pharmacy degree

Kellee T. James, daughter of Constance J. Brooks, has earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

James will begin her first year of post-graduate residency at the University of California, San Francisco, in July. She is also a graduate of Felton Laboratory School, Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and Duke University in Durham, N.C.

James has served as a student representative on the College of Pharmacy Curriculum Subcommittee, vice president of membership for the American Pharmacists Association, student chapter adviser for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc., secretary of the Phi Lambda Sigma National Pharmacy Leadership Society and tutor at Howard Universitys College of Pharmacy Center of Excellence, among others.

She has been named to Howard Universitys School of Pharmacy deans list, served as a clinical skills challenge team member for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, was a patient counseling finalist for the American Pharmacists Association, and recipient of the Pharmaceutical Health Services Research Award and American Pharmacy Association Leadership Training Award, among others.

James has also volunteered for a variety of causes, including the American Heart Associations Go Red/Redskin Campaign, Bike DC, Drug Enforcement Administrations Take Back Initiative, Black HIV Awareness Day and more.
