$1K reward offered in pharmacy robbery

INDIANAPOLIS - A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information about a recent pharmacy robbery.

Metro police and Crime Stoppers are offering the reward in exchange for information leading to an arrest in the robbery at the CVS Pharmacy at 5925 E. 71st St.

Police said two suspects robbed the pharmacy Wednesday afternoon, taking controlled substance's from the safe.

Investigators said one robber entered the store through the front door then jumped over the counter, displayed a gun and demanded drugs from the safe.

The robber ordered employees to open the drive-thru window, and a second robber drove up in a four-door, silver Pontiac Grand Prix then climbed through the window into the pharmacy, police said.

The second robber forced a pharmacy employee to help fill a bag with drugs then the two men exited through the drive-thru window and fled in the Pontiac, police said.

The first robber was described as a black male about 20 years old, wearing a black mask, brown hooded sweatshirt and black gloves, police said.

The second robber was also a black male about 20 years old, and he was wearing a black mask, all black clothes and gloves, police said.

The $1,000 cash reward was donated by Purdue Pharma L.P., a pharmaceutical company that operates RxPatrol, a group that works to collect and share information on pharmacy theft.

Police are asking anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS, text INDYCS and tip information to 274637, or submit an online tip .
