The Sam Houston State Kinesiology Department in Huntsville, Texas, and Huntsville Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Alabama have partnered together to provide a new educational experience in cardiology medicine for graduate students.

The new program allows students to observe multiple procedures in the HMH Heart and Vascular Center, guided by Guarav Aggawala, MD.

Students can see angioplasties, stent placements and other diagnostic procedures in the cath lab.

[We] are extremely grateful to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for allowing our students to continue their education outside the walls of the university, said Matt Wagner, PhD, an associate professor at Sam Houston. The openness and willingness to answer all of our questions displayed by HMH, Dr. Aggarwala, Margaret Gulledge and all of the staff there are extremely appreciated. The opportunity to see what happens in the real world was invaluable to our students. It was an outstanding day and an outstanding learning experience.
