REDLAND Bay's Elias Mangos, who has cerebral palsy, has been hailed an "everyday hero" for enduring a marathon of hospital stays and medical treatment.

REDLAND Bay's Elias Mangos, who has cerebral palsy, has been hailed an "everyday hero" for enduring a marathon of hospital stays and medical treatment.

The latest round of surgery the 11-year-old has had to endure was to rectify a painful pinched nerve at the top of his spine.

Now his friends are hoping to give the hero and his family a helping hand and are holding a fundraising auction on Saturday, October 27at the Cleveland Memorial Hall, Smith Street from 2pm to 5pm.

They want people to bring some gift-wrapped items to be auctioned off and a bottle of bubbly to enjoy.

Gifts to be auctioned must be a minimum value of $15.

All funds will go to helping Elias receive the next lot of treatment he requires.

The theme of the day will be "green" so everyone is asked to dress up in green.

Elias has limited speech and mobility and is confined to a motorised wheelchair.
