Dewaine Jensen, 91, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. He was born in Smoot on Nov. 8, 1921, the third of 12 children. He attended school there until the eighth grade when he quit to help support the family. He was drafted in the Army at 18 and served in North Africa, France, Italy and Germany. Dewaine married Jean Pringle in Evanston on Nov. 8, 1945. They recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. He worked four years for Reuben Johnson on his sheep farm in Smoot and also worked as a farmer with sheep and cattle until getting a job at FMC in 1952. He retired from there in 1983. Dewaine was a member of the Pocatello Mens Bowling League and also bowled for FMC for 30 years. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jean and Dewaine were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDSTemple in 1948. Dewaine enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, horse shoe tournaments at the Jensen family reuinions, and watching his grandkids play baseball. He is survived by his wife Jean of Pocatello; daughter Rayleen Reynolds of Pocatello; son Kirk (Sandy) Jensen of Chubbuck; daughter Judy Davis of Pocatello; son Tim (Marnel) Jensen of Inkom; daughter Dory (John) Henesh of American Falls; brother Leonard (Marion) Jensen of Brigham City, Utah; brother LaVon (Joyce) Jensen of Kenniwick, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, six brothers, son-in-law Bob Reynolds, and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the Century Ward LDS Chapel on the corner of 4th and Fredrigill. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Fredrigill. Burial will follow services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Rex Braley Baker was born Oct 21, 1926, in Afton. He passed away Jan. 24, 2013 of flu related complications. Rex was raised in Star Valley, and always considered it his home. Rex served in World War II, but was never called abroad. Rex was a peacemaker by nature, very positive, and uplifting. He loved people, was a good friend, always helping others, and sharing his knowledge with everyone. Some of his favorite sayings were a stranger is a friend you never met and everyone is entitled to my opinion. Rex was a wonderful loving husband, caring deeply for his wife, June, and helping her with her every need, which made their love for each other grow daily. Rex was a carpenter by trade helping to build the Hells Canyon Dam and the gun factory, Freedom Arms, and in his later years loved and practiced the healing arts. Rex had many interests, inventing, hypnotherapy, firearms, drawing, photography, rock hounding, yard sales, dancing, singing, dining out, and socializing. He is survived by his wife June. Children include, John and (Penny) Willey and daughter Debbie Willey (deceased). He is also survived by his first spouse Flora Fenn (divorced). Their children include: Ralph and (Shirley) Baker, Randy Baker, (Marvin) and Vicki Mitchell, (Frank) and Sharon Wolfe, Mike and (Tonnie) Baker, Byron and (Rose) Baker, Larry Baker (deceased), John and (Julie) Baker, Scott Baker, David and (Palma) Baker. He is also survived by his second spouse, Evelyn Landtizer. Children, Warren and (Nancy) Sirwaitis (both deceased), Larry Sirwaitis (deceased) His siblings include, Lloyd Baker, Carl Baker (deceased), Dennis and (May) Baker, Margie Ells, Wayne and (Miriam) Baker, Lester Baker, and Elcie Walker. He has 43 Grandchildren and 53 Great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Grover LDSChapel Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 1 p.m. with a viewing at 11 a.m. Internment will be in Afton. Memorial services will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Tempe, Arizona, at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church, on the corner of College and Alameda.

Marjorie May Anglesey passed away in Las Vegas on Jan. 19, 2013, she was 74 years old. She was born to Melvin and Ila (Parker) Scown in Salt Lake City in 1938. Marjorie spent her younger years living in Dell, Utah and Wells, Nev., then moved to Salt Lake City, when she was in the third grade. She was employed by Sesquehanna Minerals and Goodbody Investments. In 1961 she married Kaye Anglesey of Afton. They had two children Don and Jill. In 1968 their family moved to Sacramento, Calif., for 11 years and then returned to Bountiful, Utah. In 1989 they moved to Las Vegas, and were able to travel and spend summers in Star Valley Ranch when they retired in 1998. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family and was a talented painter and seamstress along with other craft projects. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Kaye; her son, Don (Carolyn) Anglesey of Alliance, Neb.; daughter Jill (Scott) Wirthlin of Apple Valley, Utah; grandsons Kolton Wirthlin, and Craig Anglesey; granddaughter Melissa Anglesey; her brother, George (Carma) Scown of Fairplay, Colo.; and her nieces and nephews. A family viewing was held on Jan. 24, in Las Vegas. Burial will be at the Afton Cemetery with a memorial service to be announced later.

Wilma Thomas, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, after a year long battle with ovarian cancer. Wilma was born on Dec. 20, 1945 in Afton, a daughter of Fay and Florize Hepworth. She lived in Grover until she graduated from Star Valley High in 1964. She moved to Utah and received her Bachelor Degree from Brigham Young University. She married Galen Bart Thomas Nov. 29, 1970, in the Salt Lake LDSTemple. They lived together in the Salt Lake Valley until her death. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, expanding her knowledge, and serving faithfully in her church callings. Wilma was known for her quiet, sweet, loving, patient and selfless manner. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents (Fay and Florize); sister (Arnola); two brothers (Waldo and Milan); and son (Tyler). She is survived by her husband (Bart); remaining four sons (Bart II, Mark, Trevor, and Brett); three daughters (Susan Beech, Carol Mullen, and Heather); 11 grandchildren; six sisters (Marva, Janet Morris, Valerie, Rosanna Crain, Zina Larsen, RaChel Pont); and brother, (Kendall). Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 in West Valley City, Utah. She was buried in the Malad City Cemetery in Malad City, Idaho.
