Despite how traumatic this experience could have been, he has generally very positive experiences of going to hospital, says Janet, and every time the family drives past Bristol Childrens Hospital he calls out Thats my hospital!

He just wouldnt be here without them, says Janet.

Harry Ragless, also 6, has been so inspired by Captain Moore that his neighbours have dubbed him Captain Harry. Harry also has spina bifida, and usually spends 80 percent of his time in a wheelchair, but after watching Captain Moore push himself to walk, he too is stretching himself and using his walking frame on the familys daily walk. He is joined by his parents and 2-year-old sister Sienna, who brings along her dolls pushchair.

When Harry saw Tom [Moore] with the frame, he said Hes like me, I have that frame!, says his mother Selina, who lives in Worthing, west Sussex. We explained that hes nearly 100 and Harry's only six, but they are very similar in their abilities, so that inspired him.
