Cardiology Group of WNY joins Catholic Health – Buffalo News

Cardiology Group of Western New York has joined Catholic Health's physician practice network, Trinity Medical WNY.

Patients will continue to see the same physicians and support staff at the groups existing locations, which will be renamed Trinity Medical Cardiology. The group's 11 doctors currently practice at Catholic Health hospitals.

With offices in Williamsville, Orchard Park and Lockport, Cardiology Group of WNY is one of the largest cardiology practices in the region. It is thesecond cardiology practice to join Catholic Health in the past two months. The physicians and staff of Buffalo Heart Group joined Trinity Medical WNY in January.

Trinity Health is a way for physicians to affiliate with a hospital system without being directly employed and is a "captive professional corporation" type of business model for integrating physicians and hospitals that has become more common across the country.

Along with our flagship Heart Center at Mercy Hospital, these practices will enable us to offer our patients a complete continuum of cardiology care in convenient locations throughout the region, Joe McDonald, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health, said in a statement.
