Burke is back! On Thursdays episode of Greys Anatomy, Dr. Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) makes his first appearance on the show since he was fired in 2007. The doc is returning as part of the goodbye to original character Dr. Cristina Yang as star Sandra Oh prepares to exit the ABC medical drama at the end of this season. Burke was Yangs love interest for the shows first three seasons, and the two had a tumultuous affair before he jilted her at the altar. (That, his final episode, also airs Thursday at 8 p.m.) Their reunion comes as Yang reaches a crossroads in her career at the hospital, but if the Taylor Swift-inspired title of the episode We Are Never Getting Back Together is any indication, it might not be a long one. After losing the Harper Avery Awards Cristina seemed to disappear. She only showed up just when her surgery was about to start. Her nonchalant attitude about losing the award had those around her worried. Richard was shocked when Catherine admitted that Cristina should have won the award as she gained the most votes. But the foundation decided that no one working at Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital would be allowed to win an award. When the news was broken to Cristina she walked out of the hospital without a word. Welcome, TV lovers, it's May day! May is all about season finales and special sweeps events, (here are 19 of them that you absolutely cannot miss!) and tonight's TV shows were certainly a great start to a huge month for the small screen.
