AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) March 31, 2015

Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) today announced the opening of its new treatment center at 4800 Bee Caves Rd. in Austin to help treat individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders.CARD specializes in applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for individuals diagnosed with ASD, offering vital services to many families living in the Austin community. A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Attendees will meet with the staff, tour the facility and learn more about the services available. To attend the grand opening, email s.price@centerforautism.com.

The opening of our new treatment center will increase access to services for a growing population in this community, said CARD operations manager in Austin, Jessica Scott. We are excited to expand our top-quality, evidence-based autism treatment to the area.

CARD provides ABA therapy, which is widely regarded as the most effective treatment for people with ASD. Over the past 40 years, thousands of research studies have documented its effectiveness, and today ABA is the only treatment with empirical evidence that has been shown to produce significant long-term improvement and, in some cases, recovery. CARD offers center-based services, home-based services, school-based services, remote clinical services, diagnostic and assessment services, and social skills groups for children, teens and adults with ASD.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one in every 68 children in America is diagnosed with ASD, with one in 42 boys and one in 189 girls diagnosed. This is more than a 30 percent increase since the 2008 report. As the prevalence of ASD has increased, services for children with ASD have not always kept pace with demand, and many families do not have access to the services they need.

About Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) CARD treats individuals of all ages who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at treatment centers around the globe. CARD was founded in 1990 by leading autism expert and clinical psychologist Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D. CARD treats individuals with ASD using the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is empirically proven to be the most effective method for treating individuals with ASD and recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the US Surgeon General. CARD employs a dedicated team of nearly 2,000 individuals across the nation and internationally. For more information, visit http://www.centerforautism.com or call (855) 345-2273.
