Autism Solution Pieces is a 501(3) nonprofit organization co-founded by Cindy Schultz and Cathy Wathen, both mothers of sons affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism Solution Pieces was formed to support the needs for special needs families in our area.

Cindy founded Autism Solution Support Group in 2005. The group meets at Festival Foods, 5740 Washington Ave. on the second Tuesday of every month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. offering support, compassion and resources to special needs families. The group shares years of knowledge as well as updates on the newest treatments and therapies, frequently bringing in special speakers. Seeing firsthand the struggles that families go through in order to provide treatment for their special needs loved one, Cindy and Cathy joined forces to start an organization that would provide grants.

Autism Solution Pieces holds many fundraising events, from concerts, Harley rides and carnivals to volleyball tournaments. All the money raised at these events is granted for therapies and treatments. So far, Autism Solution Pieces has given grants for music therapy, art therapy, Rapid Prompting Method, therapeutic equipment, iPads, eye therapy, equine therapy, indoor swings, and much more. Autism Solution Pieces hopes that with the continued help of volunteers, we can plan more events and raise more money to help special needs individuals.

Autism Solution Pieces Club Awesome is a social activity group designed to help all special needs families have fun at planned activities in a safe environment. All special needs individuals and their families are welcome to join in on the fun. Activities include but arent limited to Brewers games, dances, bowling, skating and swimming. These activities are free or offered at a nominal fee. The next event is Feb 28 at Racine Gymnastics from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $3. To find out more about upcoming events, visit our Facebook page.

Autism Solution Pieces has teamed up with two Racine churches to provide worship services that cater to the needs of special needs individuals. Gentle Worship is the first Saturday at 4 p.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Northwestern Campus, 5040 Northwestern Ave. Jesus Cares Worship at the Cross is the fourth Saturday at 10 a.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church, 5970 Douglas Ave. These 30 minute simplified worship services welcome all special needs individuals and their families.

Another service Autism Solution Pieces offers is Pay It Forward by distributing gently used donated items to needy families. Families who are no longer in need of the therapeutic or educational items they have are encouraged to donate them to Autism Solution Pieces. We have given a therapeutic bicycle, weighted blankets, exercise balls, trampolines, diapers, Little Tykes car, and giant bean bags. If you have anything youd like to donate, call us and well find a grateful recipient.

Autism Solution Pieces loves to be part of the community and volunteer where we can. We team up with Eat Right Racine and offer informative events. We got involved in Stories of Autism which shares families stories and beautiful photos. We attend numerous resources fairs and expos. We enjoy being part of Just Add Kids Expo, Wisconsin Independent Learning College Gala, A Night to Remember Prom and Battle of the Badges. Contact us if you would like us to be your event.
