Dr. Robert C. Turner, who practiced with Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute, has agreed to stop treating patients for at least 180 days.

The State Medical Board sent Turner, 64, a letter last year accusing him of inappropriately prescribing narcotics and excessively prescribing acetaminophen, which can cause liver damage.

The board letter also said that Turner did not keep good records on several patients and gave inappropriate cortisone injections. In an agreement between the doctor and the board, he admitted to the allegations and agreed to a suspension.

To practice again, he must adhere to certain conditions, including taking courses on prescribing controlled medicines and maintaining medical records. The practice has several offices in central Ohio.

The board also sent a letter this week to massage therapist Heather Kochenash of Hilliard indicating that it might take action against her license based on her guilty plea to a first-degree misdemeanor last year.

Kochenash, 38, was arrested in 2011 and charged with promoting prostitution. She has 30 days to request a hearing.
