Drugs Branch Licensing and Inspectorate

The Drugs Branch is the UK's competent authority for the purposes of the United Nations Conventions on controlled drugs. Any companies intending to possess, supply, produce or manufacture controlled drugs will need to apply to the Drugs Branch for the appropriate licence.

To download the Excel file to a local disk, right-click on the link and choose 'Save as...' or Save target as...'. Complete it electronically and email it as an attachment to licensing_enquiry.aadu@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

This list of controlled drugs enables companies to identify their licence requirements:

Upon receipt the form is checked and passed onto the Home Office Inspector, who will arrange to visit the company.

The fee for a licence is calculated per drug per year. Licences are renewed annually.
