Prescription drug overdose is the fastest-growing drug problem in the country. On Tuesday, April 19, the White House announced a major new initiative, "Epidemic: Responding to America's Prescription Drug Abuse Crisis," the first comprehensive national program of its kind. Crouse is home to the only hospital-based chemical dependency treatment service in the region, and Elizabeth Berry, PhD, who treats patients through this service, commented on aspects of the new proposal.
