Yu-Chong Tai, Director, Caltech Micro Machining Laboratory, California Institute of Technology discusses research in the use of neural implants such pacemakers and electronic cochlear implants. Dr. Tai reviews progress on the next generation of implants which must be miniature, flexible, and highly functional for muscular, retinal, cortical, and spinal use.
