We are very sensitive to the patients and their caregivers need. We understand that no one wants to visit hospital by choice and it is our endeavour to lessen their grief.

Greetings to you. It gives me a great pleasure to bring you this new, mobile friendly website. It has been designed for better access to the areas of your interest. The functional neurosurgery program of the Jaslok Hospital achieved yet one another milestone. It recently successfully hosted the World Society for Stereotactic and functional neurosurgery meeting. There were more than 400 delegates with 250 from 38 different countries. The scientific program was a feast and around 100 Indian young neurosurgeons took the advantage of the training imparted. It helped to enhance the stature of the Indian functional neurosurgery.

This year we had several new developments. We launched the first Vercise system in Asia. This is the most advanced DBS system in the world and promises to have the pacemaker life of 25 years. We performed a surgery for Tourettes syndrome and not only did the patient did extremely well, but also could produce a video for the inaugural function of WSSFN meeting. I will be using this platform to communicate to you and would encourage you to check it out on regular basis for exciting insights and developments in the field of functional neurosurgery.

You are not getting relief from your symptoms even though the neurostimulater is on. Any problem with your device. Attend all follow-up visits to make sure you get the best care.

NO. The decision for surgery can be made only by an expert. There are features of spinal problems that can be treated by medicine and physiotherapy, some require intervention by pain specialist, some by surgical treatment and some that are more complex, by a multidisciplinary team. Every patient is unique and one patients experience cannot be translated for advising the other patient. However, if the patient has any weakness, sensory loss or bladder or bowel symptoms surgery is a rule rather than exception and he should be urgently seen by a neurosurgeon.
