Governor Bobby Jindal announced reappointments to the Louisiana Board of Wholesale Drug Distributors, which included Randall Brooks of Prairieville.

The Louisiana Board of Wholesale Drug Distributors serves to safeguard life and health by regulating the distribution of prescription drugs by wholesale drug distributors and approving and renewing licenses of qualified applicants for licensure as wholesale drug distributors. Additionally, the board ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding the distribution of wholesale drugs by distributors and conducts inspections of wholesale drug facilities.

According to the statute, the board is comprised of seven gubernatorial appointments serving staggered, five-year terms. The board includes five members selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Association of Wholesale Drug Distributors and two members selected from nominations submitted by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Each gubernatorial appointment is submitted to the Senate for confirmation.

Reappointments to the Louisiana Board of Wholesale Drug Distributors:

Chad Gielen, of Crowley, is the President & CEO of Louisiana Wholesale Drug Company. Gielen will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Association of Wholesale Drug Distributors, as required by statute.

Randall Brooks, of Prairieville, is a nuclear pharmacist at Pioneer Pharmacy and is the Pharmacist in Charge at Behavioral Health Group New Orleans. Brooks will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Association of Wholesale Drug Distributors, as required by statute.
