THE parents of brave Ben Baddeley say his vital physiotherapy is costing about 2,000 per month.

Cerebral palsy sufferer Ben requires aftercare following an operation to help him walk.

But the determined 10-year-old will take part in a 'sponsored pedal' during a fund-raising fun day at Silverdale Workingmen's Club on March 14.

Mum Amy, of Silverdale, says she has been told the cost of Ben's aftercare is 'way beyond' what the NHS would pay.

Although the family was told by a medic from NHS England he would "seek clarification on the funding arrangements for post-operative rehabilitation", the current position, it appears, has not changed and no extra funding from the NHS will be provided.

Now the family is pushing on with fund-raisers to help pay for the treatment, which currently stands at about 2,000 per month.

Amy said: "My husband Gary is doing all the overtime that he can at the moment. The next cost will be the hydrotherapy which Ben will need.

"But we are grateful for any support we receive."

The fun day at Silverdale Workingmen's Club will run from 1pm until 4pm.
