SOUTHAVEN, MS -

(WMC-TV) - Police are investigating a possible pharmacy burglary ring in North Mississippi, where thousands of dollars in pills has been stolen.

Pharmacies in Batesville, Southaven, and Olive Branch were targeted but the thefts might not stop there. Police could be dealing with a pharmacy theft ring that stretches into Tennessee and Alabama.

One of the burglaries was caught on camera.

Four break-ins in the past week have pharmacists like Ann Pitts uneasy.

"Kind of a little nervous down here," said Pitts.

"It's pretty obvious that it's probably going to the street market," said Lt. Mark Little, Southaven Police Department.

Pitts works at Super Drugs in Horn Lake. She was upset to hear that the nearby Oliver's Pharmacy lost about $25,000 in Oxycontin and Loritabs, drugs that can triple in value on the street.

In the surveillance video the suspects can be seen using a crowbar to break open the front door.

Once inside the pharmacy, the crook filled a plastic container full of prescription narcotics and then took off in less than 2 minutes.
