A family have shared their emotional ordeal overcoming their young sons horrific eczema.

Tyler Saunders, now seven, has been suffering from the disabling condition since he was nine-months-old, which at times has led to him to being unable to walk because the eczema had reached places that effected his movement.

Its a living hell. Its almost like he was in a trance. There wasnt much of Tylers world that wasnt effected by eczema, Tylers mum Debbie Maddalena-Saunderstold Daily Mail Australia.

Ms Maddalena-Saunders, from Old Bar, north of Sydney, said she had reached breaking point after spending years nursing her son as he cried through the night in excruciating pain, unable to go to school, play with his sister or even perform mundane tasks like walking.

Tylers condition was so severe he was at times rendered house-bound, unable to play with his friends and live like a normal kid.

He would question it at times,he would say to me Mummy I just want these itchies gone.

Turning to social media in a desperate attempt to find a way to help her little boy, Ms Maddalena-Saunders came across a South African dermatologist whose cream was able to give young Tyler a new lease on life.

With eczema its such an extremely underestimated condition. It takes a lot of time to look after the person, MsMs Maddalena-Saunders told Daily Mail Australia.

Before using the creams even the simplest things were so difficult. We never stopped searching for a cure. Wed exhausted all avenues and wed also exhausted ourselves.

Eczema is a recurring, non-infectious, inflammatory skin condition that affects one in three Australasians.

Atopic eczema is the most common form of the disease and causes the skin to become red, dry, itchy and scaly flaring and subsiding with no apparent reason.

In more severe cases the skin can weep, bleed and crust over which can cause significant discomfort.

The condition affects people of all ages but usually appears in early childhood and disappears at around age six.

Promising results of Dr Richard Arons treatment plan the Aron Regime was posted on the Eczema Association of Australasia Facebook page by a former patient, and after an online consultation the concerned mother had a script for a compounded cream made up of moisturiser, topical steroids and antibiotics.

[It was] made for age, weight and severity of eczema and a doctor here would oversee it, Ms Maddalena-Saunders said.

Tyler started using the cream in September of 2015 and by November the boy who had previously been forced to wear socks on his hands to stop him tearing away at his inflamed skin had all but disappeared.

Years earlier, Ms Maddalena-Saunders started collecting pictures and videos that illustrated the pain and discomfort her brave son had endured throughout his short life.

But the images of her son crying and begging for relief have now been replaced by an active young boy who cant seem to wipe the big, toothy grin from his face.

His treatment has decreased from four applications per day to now just one.

MsMaddalena-Saunders wants people to know this can help treat adults as well as children and is encouraging people to seek alternative treatment away from the deeply flawed system.

Why are there thousands of children and adults reaching this state of desperation? she said,

Dr Aron is willing to provide physicians with a free manual explaining how to treat patients with eczema. Hopefully our story can push towards that happening.
