The accompanying guideline, the 2017 ACC/AHA/HRS Guideline for the Evaluation and Management of Patients With Syncope, chaired by Win-Kuang Shen, MD, FACC, FAHA, FHRS and a writing committee of 15 others, along with the joint guideline taskforce of 17 other distinguished cardiology researchers, was also published in both JACC and Circulation. The authors based the clinical recommendations on the results of the systematic review.

"We are proud to be the evidence partner for the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guideline development teams to bring evidence-informed recommendations to patients and cardiologists," stated Robert Battista, CEO and co-founder of Doctor Evidence. "The mission of Doctor Evidence's GROWTH initiative is to spread evidence-based medicine and methods widely and deeply, which is facilitated through the excellent collaborations we have with these well-respected guideline developers, along with many other medical professional societies, academic medical centers, and healthcare provider organizations."

The 2016 AHA/ACC Guideline on the Management of Patients With Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease: A Report of the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Task Force on Clinical Practice Guidelines was jointly published in JACC and Circulation in November 2016, with corrections appearing March 21, 2017. There was no need for independently produced systematic review because existing reviews met the criteria for the Evidence Review Committee. Doctor Evidence assisted with the identification and appraisal of the existing reviews.

The ACC and AHA have been members of GROWTH (Guidelines & Research Organizations Worldwide for Transparency & Harmonization) since 2014, when they selected GROWTH, a Doctor Evidence initiative, to assist in their guideline modernization efforts, to be compliant with the 2011 standards as set forth by the Institute of Medicine reports on trustworthy guidelines and systematic reviews. Both organizations have utilized the expertise and resources of Doctor Evidence for other evidence-based guideline projects during this time, including several that are still in development.
