May 6, 2012 Thieves hit W. Industrial Boulevard pharmacy Business burglary second in week

CUMBERLAND For the second time in a week, a business on West Industrial Boulevard has been hit by thieves under the cover of darkness.

The latest incident occurred at the South Cumberland Pharmacy at 1100 West Industrial at about 3 a.m. Saturday when several suspects forced open an entrance door, Cumberland Police said.

Once inside the pharmacy, the suspects stole an unspecified quantity of prescription medication pills, police said.

Maryland State Police evidence collection technicians processed the scene of the crime that remains under investigation by Cumberland Police and the C3I Unit.

On April 29, thieves broke into Naylors Hardware at 1350 West Industrial after breaking the glass of a front door. A safe and numerous power tools with a merchandise value of $4,500 were stolen. The safe was recovered later on Starlite Drive in the Messick Road area, police said.

The Naylors burglary was discovered by a passerby who observed the front door glass broken. The observation was made at about 8:15 a.m. on April 29
