Another comic book property is coming to the silver screen, as Universal announced that its tinkering with a feature film adaptation of Mark Watson and Oliver Haruds critically-acclaimed 2015 graphic novel Dan and Sam,according to Deadline.

Japanese director Hikari, who won the Berlin Film Festival Audience Award for his work on 37 Seconds, will helm Dan and Sam. The aforementioned film, whichwas recently tabbed by Netflix for streaming earlier this year, examines a young Japanese woman diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Molly Smith Metzler was hired to give the graphic novel a film treatment.

Dan and Sam follows a London couple who live a life of luxury. However, after Sam becomes the victim of a gruesome car accident, Dan finds himself able to see Sam as a premonition for one night each year for the remainder of his days, at least until he finds love elsewhere. Now Dan faces the vigorous challenge of longing for Sams presence, despite her not being with him physically, or the harsh reality of moving on.

Marc Platt and Adam Siegel are set to produce the film through their Uni-based banner Marc Platt Productions. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger who will be assisting them through their Automatik Entertainment banner. Rian Cahill will serve as an executive produce.
