Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the most common type of heart disease that causes more than 17.6 million deaths per year globally, accounting for 8% cause of deaths in Pakistan itself. Recent researches and lifestyle inspections suggest that this number is expected to grow to more than 23.6 million by the year 2030.

Tabba Heart Institute has been organizing yearly events on World Heart Day to raise awareness among people about cardiovascular diseases and the need to have a healthy heart. This year, on World Heart Day 2019, Tabba made no exception in continuing with the promise to lead people towards a healthy and happy life.

Prevention is better than cure.The emphasis should be on making people understand that it is far better to prevent a disease rather than cure it and this is only possible when people make changes in their lifestyle. There is a need to make amendments while there is still time because a healthy heart requires a good daily routine that includes a healthy diet, along with cardio exercises.

Unfortunately in Pakistan, the lifestyle we are all accustomed to is exactly the lifestyle that is unhealthy for a healthy heart. Eating unhealthy food and inactivity is a deadly combination for the heart and we all know that taking care of our diet and physical well being is way down our priority list.

For a good cause and for a healthy heart, Tabba Heart Institutes event inspired people to make some changes in their daily routine in order to live a better life and it highlighted some easy ways that could be the beginning steps towards a higher state of living.

The event included talks on the causes of heart diseases among which obesity, diabetes, and smoking took the top 3 numbers. Eating big portions of vegetables as a part of every meal and keeping your body active throughout the day is the first step towards making healthy lifestyle choices.

Taking long walks is highly beneficial in order to have a healthy heart. Housewives spend most of the time at home taking care of others, but their own health is ignored so there is also a need for women to take a step ahead in taking care of themselves.

A healthy heart means a higher quality of living.The heart is the most important organ of our body. Without a healthy heart, your body succumbs to other diseases easily. You become prone to diseases that include; respiratory diseases, chest infections, cardiac arrest, stroke, and CDH.

Tabba Heart Institute brings this awareness to the public and inspires them to develop a good living habit and to fight against the causes that lead to heart problems.
