Program Overview

Discovery of new drug therapies increasingly stems from our growing knowledge of genomics, our ability to manage huge amounts of sequence data, and our ability to uncover secrets hidden within the genetic code. As a result, professionals operating at the intersection of biological systems, genetics, and information technology have become key to medical advances and are in high demand.

The Bioinformatics program at Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals combines the strengths of the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences' Advanced Academic Programs and Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals to produce graduates who can excel in the field. One of the most comprehensive bioinformatics master's programs available anywhere, the program gives students the educational foundation needed to interpret complex biological information, perform analysis of sequence data using sophisticated bioinformatics software, and develop program software when needed.
