The Lady Braves never trailed the previously unbeaten Douglas Lady Bearcats in their 56-46 victory at the Casper Events Center. Hailey Greenwood capped off a spectacular weekend with 24 points as the ladies won their first state title since the 1999-2000 season.

The win validates a group that had to endure a tough outing a year ago with no trophy despite 24 wins and an extremely close loss in the volleyball state championship to Torrington.

The Lady Bearcats had been 27-0 before the game, but had no answer for the girl Star Valley fans call Bruce, as Greenwood and Jenkins picked apart the Douglas back court.

She had about as good a weekend as you can have, Erickson added. She finished with 19 against Buffalo, 19 against Rawlins and a total for the weekend of 62 points.

It was also a sweet moment for Erickson who watched his daughter dominate the glass.

That was one of the reasons I wanted to do this was to share a memory like this with my daughter, he said. But these girls are amazing and I couldnt ask for a better team.
