Cardiac Diseases

Heart attacksandstrokesare usually acute events and are mainly caused by a blockage that prevents blood from flowing to theheartorbrain. The most common reason for this is a build-up of fatty deposits on the inner walls of the blood vessels that supply the heart or brain. Strokes can also be caused by bleeding from a blood vessel in the brain or from blood clots. The cause ofheart attacks and strokes are usually the presence of a combination of risk factors, such astobaccouse, unhealthy diet and obesity, physical inactivity and harmful use ofalcohol, hypertension, diabetesandhyperlipidaemia.

2. Cardiac Surgery

To understand howcardiac surgeryworks, it is helpful to know something about the anatomy of the heart. The heart is a muscle containing four compartments or chambers that separateoxygen-poor bloodfromoxygen-rich blood. The atria are the top chambers. They receive blood from the body. The ventricles are the bottom chambers. They pump blood out to the body. Oxygen-poor blood enters the rightatrium, then moves through a valve to the right ventricle. It is then pumped out of the right ventricle to thelungswhere it picks up oxygen. The oxygen-rich blood returns to the left atrium of the through thepulmonary vein, flows through a valve to the left ventricle, and is then pumped into the aorta. The aorta is the only artery carrying blood out of the heart. Smaller arteries branch off and carry blood to the rest of the body from this very large, thick, long artery. The first arteries to branch off the aorta are thecoronary arteries. These carry a continuous supply of oxygen-rich blood to the heart.

Cardiac surgery is done to correct many different types of heart conditions. The most common are:

3. Cardiac Nursing

Nursinghas a place with that works with patients who experience the ill effects of different states of thecardiovascularframework. Cardiovascular medical caretakers orcardiac nursescure those conditions, for example, unsteady angina, cardiomyopathy, coronary course sickness, congestive heart disappointment, myocardialdead tissue and heartdysrhythmiaunder the supervision of acardiologist. Heart medicalnurse practitionershave the real work to do in basic circumstance. They are prepared for various practice range, including coronary consideration units (CCU),heart catheterization, serious patient consideration units (ICU), working theaters, cardiovascular recovery focuses, cardiovascular consideration focus clinical exploration, cardiovascular surgery wards, cardiovascular concentrated consideration units (CVICU), and cardiovascular restorative wards.

4. Heart Diagnosis

The tests you'll need to diagnose yourheart diseasedepend on what condition your doctor thinks you might have. No matter what type of heart disease you have, your doctor will likely perform a physical exam and ask about your personal and family medical history before doing any tests. Besides blood tests and a chest X-ray, tests to diagnose heart disease can include:

5. Types of Cardiology

The heart is a vital organ within our body, pumping oxygen-rich blood to the parts that need oxygen, and oxygen-poor blood back towards the lungs. Considering the importance of the heart, there are different types of Cardiac specializations likeCardiology,Vascular surgery,ElectrophysiologyandCardiac Surgerywith different purposes to maintain the health of the heart. Allcardiologists study the disorders of the heart, but the study of adult and child heart disorders are through different training pathways. Therefore, an adultcardiologistis inadequately trained to take care of children, andpediatric cardiologistsare inadequately trained to take care of adults. The surgical aspects are not included in cardiology and are in the domain ofcardiothoracic surgery. For example, coronary artery bypass surgery(CABG), cardiopulmonary bypass and valve replacement are surgical procedures performed by surgeons, not cardiologists. However the insertion of stents, pacemakersis performed by cardiologists. Different Types of Cardiology For example: Adult Cardiology,Cardiac Electrophysiology,Cardio geriatrics, Echocardiography,Interventional cardiology, Pediatric cardiology .etc.

6. Hypertension, Obesity & Stroke

Heartassaults and strokes are generally intense occasions and are chiefly caused by a blockage that keeps blood from streaming to the heart or mind. The condition where blood supply to mind has ceased incidentally, because of development of blood cluster which can be found in a corridor The most widely recognized explanation behind this is a development of greasy stores on the inward dividers of the veins that supply the heart orcerebrum. The reason for heart assaults and strokes are normally the nearness of a mix of hazard factors, for example, tobacco utilize, undesirable eating routine and stoutness, physical latency and unsafe utilization of liquor, hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia. The danger of heart stroke can increment from four to five times on the off chance that you haveatrial fibrillation. Heart stroke looks for a crisis medicinal consideration.

Strokeis when poor circulatory system to the mind realizes cell end. Long haulhypertensionis a noteworthy hazard factor forcoronary vein malady, stroke, heart disappointment, fringe vascular sickness, vision misfortune, and endless kidney illness. Hypertension is once in a while joined by side effects, and its distinguishing proof is normally through screening.

7. Coronary artery disease

Coronary artery diseaseis a group of diseases that includes:stable angina, unstableangina, myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death. It is within the group of cardiovascular diseases of which it is the most common type. A common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck, or jaw. Occasionally it may feel like heartburn. Usually symptoms occur with exercise or emotional stress, last less than a few minutes, and get better with rest. Shortness of breath may also occur and sometimes no symptoms are present. The first sign is occasionally a heart attack. Other complications include heart failure or an irregularheartbeat.

8. Cardiologists

The field includesmedical diagnosisand treatment ofcongenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart diseaseandelectrophysiology. Physicians who specialize in this field of medicine are called cardiologists, a specialty of internal medicine. Pediatric cardiologists are pediatricians who specialize in cardiology. Physicians who specialize in cardiac surgery are calledcardiothoracic surgeonsorcardiac surgeons, a specialty of general surgery.

9. Heart Regeneration

Cardiac regenerationis a broad effort that aims to repair irreversibly damagedheart tissuewith cutting-edge science, including stem cell and cell-free therapy. Reparative tools have been engineered to restore damaged heart tissue and function using the body's natural ability to regenerate. Working together, patients and providers are finding regenerative solutions that restore, renew and recycle patients' own reparative capacity.

10. Angiography & Interventional Cardiology

Angiographyof the heart is a method of contrast X-ray examination of the heart and blood vessels, produced for diagnostic of vesselsthrombosisas well as for theendovascularcorrection of the existingpathology.

Interventional cardiologyis a branch ofcardiologythat deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases The main advantages of using the interventional cardiology orradiologyapproach are the avoidance of the scars and pain, and long post-operative recovery. Additionally, interventional cardiologyprocedure ofprimary angioplastyis now the gold standard of care for anacute myocardial infarction.

11. Clinical Cardiology & Diabetes

Clinical cardiac electrophysiologyis a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology and is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart.

Diabetes mellitus(DM), commonly referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic disorders in which there arehigh blood sugarlevels over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many complications. Acute complications can includediabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, or death. Serious long-term complications include cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.

12. Nursing Care

Nursing careis for people who need a qualified nursing care team available to them 24 hours a day. That might, for example, include people who needintensive rehabilitative care(like people who have suffered a stroke), people who need peg feeding, people with physical disabilities and people with long-term conditions. A nursing care design gives guidance on the kind ofnursingcare the individual/family/group may need. The fundamental concentration of anursing caredesign is to encourage institutionalized, confirm based and comprehensivecare.

13. Cardiac Pharmacology

Cardiovascular pharmacologydeals with the medication of cardiacdiseases. TheCardiac Drugsare used to treat conditions of the heart or the circulatory or vascular system. Many classes ofcardiovascularagents are available to treat the various cardiovascular conditions. In this sub topic we have Sodium, potassium, calcium channel blockers,ACE-inhibitorsandCardiac biomarkers.

14. Case Reports on Cardiology

Cardiologyis a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart. Heart is an important muscular organ in humans and other animals, pumps blood through the blood vessels of thecirculatory system. The drugs that are used to treat otherdisordersin body show a great impact on heart causing variousside effects. Hence case reports oncardiac arrestand diseases have a great value and help in advancing and development of treatment strategies.

15. Clinical cardiac electrophysiology

Clinical cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia services, orelectrophysiology), is a branch of the medical specialty ofcardiologyand is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart. Cardiologists with expertise in this area are usually referred to as electrophysiologists.Electrophysiologistsare trained in the mechanism, function, and performance of the electrical activities of the heart. Electrophysiologists work closely with other cardiologists andcardiac surgeons to assist or guide therapy for heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias). They are trained to perform interventional and surgical procedures to treatcardiac arrhythmia.

16. Pediatric cardiology

The Division ofPediatric Cardiologyis responsible for the diagnosis of congenital heart defects, performingdiagnosticprocedures such asechocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations, and electrophysiology studies, and for the on-going management of the sequel of heart disease in infants, children and adolescents. The various Inflammatory heart diseases includeMyocarditis, Kawasaki disease is a rare childhood illness that affects the blood vessels. There are also otherPericardial diseases that can present clinically as acute pericarditis, pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, and constrictive pericarditis. Infectiveendocarditisis a form of endocarditis. It is an inflammation of the inner tissues of the heart.

Why Japan?

Requirements of nursing education in Japan are that candidates have completed twelve years of basic academic study and then three years of basic nursing. Public health nurses and midwives require a minimum of one additional year of specialized study. After completing their studies, students must pass the national licensing examination and obtain a license from the Minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare in the case of nurses, or from the prefectural governor, for nurse assistants. Foreign nurses who wish to work in Japan are required to pass the licensing examination and obtain a Japanese nursing license.

To become a registered nurse in Japan, candidates must first obtain a high school degree and then either enroll in a nursing university for four years and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); attend a junior nursing college for three years, earning an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); or study at a nursing training school for three years and obtain a diploma.[18] The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) regulates the curriculum of the colleges and universities, while the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare's Division of Nursing regulates nursing diploma programs. The two Ministries jointly establish core curriculum, though individual schools may vary on additional requirements. The basic course study must include courses on: anatomy, adult health, basic nursing, childrens health, disease and recovery studies, gerontological nursing, health support and social systems, home care nursing theory, maternity, mental health, nursing integration, psychiatric nursing, scientific thinking and the understanding of humans, life and society. Both theoretical study and clinical practice are required.
