ANDERSON The Rush County coroner has ruled the death of former Anderson Police Chief Larry Crenshaw on Sunday was accidental. In a press release, Coroner Ron Jarman said the cause of Crenshaws death was acute myocardial infarction, a blockage of the blood flow to the heart. He said the heart attack was due to anaphylactic shock, which is described as an extreme, often life-threatening allergic reaction to an antigen to which the body has become hypersensitive. A recent decrease in preoperative cardiac stress testing in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) may not have increased the risk of certain cardiac complications, according to a study. Stress testing is often performed prior to noncardiac surgery, but trends and associated outcomes remain unknown, the study authors observed. They conducted a cross-sectional study of elective THA and TKA patients treated between 2004 and 2017 by searching IBM MarketScan Research Databases inpatient and outpatient healthcare claims. The FDA has granted a Breakthrough Therapy designation to IMGN632 as treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms (BPDCN), ImmunoGen, Inc., announced in a press release. We are pleased FDA has granted Breakthrough Therapy designation for IMGN632, our novel CD123-targeted ADC, as it underscores the urgent need for effective and well-tolerated treatments for patients with this rare and aggressive cancer, said Mark Enyedy, president and chief executive officer, ImmunoGen, in a statement.
