The moratorium prevents building permits from being granted by the town to new commercial construction projects. The sunset date for the moratorium is Tuesday, April 9. According to information provided by the Town of Afton, time is needed to iron out details in the areas of building plan review inspection and building inspection as it relates to the town code. The three week moratorium allows the town time to put language together stating the towns requirements in such areas. The moratorium does not affect residential building permits or the remodeling of existing commercial properties. During the April 9 meeting of the Afton Town Council, an emergency ordinance stating the towns regulations regarding building plan review inspection and building inspection will be presented. The emergency ordinance will be in place until the town passes an ordinance stating the towns requirements. The moratorium passed on a vote four to one. Councilman Kevin Kilroy opposed. By Sarah Hale on Apr 2, 2013 in Alpine, Featured, News, Outdoors The Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a hearing on the proposed Blind Bull Meadows PUDMaster Plan on Wednesday, April 24. The meeting time is set for 7 p.m. According to the Lincoln County Office of Planning and Development, the tentative meeting location for the April 24 hearing is the Cokeville Town Hall. However, the meeting location may be changed if the number of attendees exceeds the Cokeville Town Hall capacity. Any meeting location change will be announced by the Office of Planning and Development. The proposed project calls for subdividing approximately 73 acres into 30 units. The project area is located 25 miles up the Greys River on part of what is known as the Deadman Ranch. The property is currently zoned as recreational. The Office of Planning and Development is accepting public comments on the project proposal. Submit comments on the project to John Woodward, planning director. Comments received by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 15 will be included in the planning staff report. Additional comments on the project will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22. The Business Council made a site visit to the towns proposed water project area. In February the Town of Alpine applied for a Business Ready Community Grant. If awarded, the grant will provide funding for the construction of a potable water transmission line across the Snake River. According to Alpine Mayor Kennis Lutz, the March 7 site inspection covered details that relate to the proposed project. The project calls for constructing a transmission line from the towns water system to the north side of the river. The town has more than enough water to meet the additional demand, Lutz said. The additional service area will enable the town to run its water system more efficiently, he added. According to Bob Ablondi of Rendezvous Engineering, the Town of Alpine has three wells that currently are running at approximately 20 percent of capacity. The best shots Green River had in the match resulted in the two early goals as Victor Allatorre got past Star Valleys Travis Kinslow in the 4th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The momentum kept going as the Wolf pack ganged up for another run at the Star Valley net just three minutes later, this time punched in the right side by Chase Erickson in the 7th minute. The Braves countered the Wolves and decidedly controlled the action for the remainder of the first half, but were forced to settle for several close calls which were either wide of the net or saved by Alexander Marchal who finished with eight saves for Green River. She was born April 21, 1949 in Afton, the daughter of Burwin Owen and Norma Verlene Robinson Miles. She married James M. Venditti Nov. 26, 1971 in Elko, Nev. Aven attended BYU and Utah State University. She has lived in West Bountiful for 38 years and is an active member of the LDS West Bountiful Third Ward and served as the compassionate service leader. She was an outstanding cook and loved watching Dodgers baseball and good western movies with Jim. Her family was the love of her life. She is survived by her husband James; daughter Anne (Mike Jones) Venditti; sons Frank (Mindy) Venditti, James (Brianna) Venditti, and five grandchildren, Reggie, Erickson, Savannah, Jackson and Allison. In its ongoing effort to crack down on the nation's prescription-drug epidemic, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has gone after doctors, pharmacists, pharmacy chains, wholesale drug suppliers and now FedEx and UPS. Even though the DEA will not confirm it is engaged in the probe, both companies have disclosed in corporate filings that they are targets of a federal investigation related to packages shipped from online pharmacies. Based on the allegations, it appears federal officials are suggesting the shipping companies take responsibility for the prescription drugs inside packages they are transporting. FedEx officials have called the California-based probe "absurd and deeply disturbing" and a threat to customers' privacy. "We are a transportation company we are not law enforcement, we are not doctors and we are not pharmacists," FedEx spokesman Patrick Fitzgerald said in a prepared statement. Though the probe has been unfolding quietly for several years, the investigation is now gaining headlines and attention from politicians, including Winter Park U.S. Rep. John Mica. The AGs office has recently seen a sharp rise in consumer complaints regarding this type of scam, and is investigating the calls. The debit card scam occurs when a person receives a telephone call with a voice recording. The recording indicates that they are calling about a problem with the persons debit card, or more vaguely card. The recording asks that the person press 1, and then asks the recipient to input personal financial information including the card number and pin number of their card. The Caller ID number usually shows a number outside of Wyoming. If you receive a call like this, please do not give out any personal information and hang up. If you have any concerns about your debit or credit card, please contact the financial institution that issued the card. People can report robocall debit card incidents to our office 777-5833 or directly to the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov or 877-382-4357. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway. Park staff received reports of the first set of bear tracks on March 15th. These reports were in keeping with long-term data that indicates 50% of adult males bears are out of their winter dens by mid-March each year. Local residents and park visitors should be alert for the presence of bears throughout all areas of the park and parkway. When bears leave their winter dens, they search for any food source that will help restore fat reserves lost during hibernation. Winter-killed animals provide immediate sources of protein, and hungry bears will strongly defend this and other food sources against perceived threats. Carcasses and freshly killed animals should serve as a point of cautiona red flag to detour away from the area. As snow banks recede, bears also dig up wildflower bulbs and burrowing rodents. The county is seeking to expand the allowable uses of the Pine Creek Resort. We have been working for years to enhance the facilities and operation at Pine Creek, the commissioner letter stated. Our intent is to provide a quality recreational experience while ensuring the economic benefit to Lincoln County. The letter to the BLM is a form request from Lincoln County for patent to better meet the future needs of the [Pine Creek] site. According to information provided by the County, plans for the Pine Creek Ski Area and Mountain Resort include: implementation of a progressively-installed snow making system and hydroelectric power generation utilizing Pine Creek as a source for both operations; improving access to the steep slopes along the west edge of the site for backcountry skiing purposes; establishing a new chair lift approximately 1,300 feet in length to provide skier access to slopes on the western extents of the site; developing one additional ski run and re-grading portions of an existing ski run, both located … Continue reading →

The policy deals with administering medication to students. The administration of medication while in school is generally discouraged, the proposed policy reads. When a child requires medication, the primary responsibility for administering such medication rests solely upon the parents. Policy JHCD outlines how schools will address situations where medication administration is required. The school district recognizes there will be students, with short and long-term conditions, that may require the administration of medication during school hours, upon request of the parent/guardian, the policy states. Medications should be limited to those required during school hours, which are necessary to maintain the student in school, as well as conditions requiring access to emergency rescue medication. Under the proposed policy, school personnel identified by the school administrator and trained by the school nurse may administer medications to students under appropriate procedures developed and supervised by the school nurse.
