Beverly Hills Stem Cell Clinic Now Offering the Option of Avoiding Surgery with Outpatient Stem Cell Injections

Posted: Published on October 16th, 2013

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 The leading stem cell clinic in the greater Los Angeles area, Beverly Hills Orthopedic Institute of Cellular Therapy, is now offering patients the opportunity to avoid surgery with outpatient stem cell therapy. The stem cell treatments are offered by a Double Board certified orthopedic doctor and maintain minimal risk when compared with that of surgical procedures. For more information and scheduling, call the stem cell clinic today at (424) 253-5577. Numerous small research studies such as the one last year at Hospital for Special Surgery have showed the benefits of stem cell treatments and platelet rich plasma therapy for arthritis of the spine and extremity joints such as the shoulder, hip or need. In addition, stem cell injections are also showing excellent results for soft tissue injury such as tendinitis in the elbow, shoulder and Achilles. For example, when the patient has tendinitis or a tear of the Achilles or rotator cuff, stem cell treatments may be able to help prepare and regenerate the areas to avoid the need for surgery. There are several stem cell therapy options available at the clinic which include bone marrow derived or amniotic derived stem cell injections, … Continue reading

Post-Stroke Stem Cell Injections

Posted: Published on September 1st, 2013

Stem cell injections into the brain following a stroke have been shown to prevent or reduce cognitive deficits, according to a study published in the journal Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience. A release from the publisher notes that the American Heart Association reports that almost half of ischemic stroke survivors older than 65 years of age experience cognitive deficits resulting in functional impairments, dependence, and increased mortality. The incidence of cognitive deficits triples after stroke and about one quarter of cognitively impaired stroke patients' progress to dementia. For these reasons, "there is an underlying need for restorative therapies," says lead investigator lead investigator Gary L. Dunbar, PhD, Director of the Central Michigan University Program in Neuroscience. In order to see whether stem cells derived from bone marrow could prevent cognitive problems following a stroke-like ischemic event, the scientists mimicked stroke in rats. Seven days after the "stroke", some of the rats received injections of bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BSCs), while others received control injections. Cognition was evaluated using a spatial operant reversal task (SORT), in which the animals were trained to press a lever a certain number of times when it was illuminated to receive a food reward. The investigators found … Continue reading

Leading Scottsdale Pain Clinic, Arizona Pain Specialists, Now Offering Stem Cell Injections for Spine and Extremity …

Posted: Published on May 7th, 2013

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) May 06, 2013 The most cutting edge pain management clinic in AZ, Arizona Pain Specialists, is now offering stem cell injections at its Scottsdale pain clinic. The Award Winning, Board Certified pain doctors a the Scottsdale location, Drs. Paul Lynch and Tory McJunking, are leading the way for regenerative medicine for painful back and extremity conditions. Those interested should call (602) 507-6550. The stem cell injections being offered at Arizona Pain include multiple varieties. One is platelet rich plasma injections, which involves taking the patient's own blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to obtain concentrated platelets and growth factors. The resulting PRP is incredibly good at calling in the body's own stem cells once it is injected into the painful spinal area or arthritic extremity. It works well for soft tissue injuries as well. The second option is for bone marrow derived stem cell injections. This procedure involves harvesting the patient's own bone marrow, filtering out the stem cells, and reinjecting into the painful area. The procedure is performed in the same visit, and initial studies have been very promising so far. The third option Arizona Pain offers is with amniotic based stem cell rich injections. … Continue reading

Different organ-derived stem cell injections improve heart function in rats

Posted: Published on November 29th, 2012

Washington, November 28 (ANI): When mesenchymal cells derived from skeletal muscle (SM-MSCs) or adipose tissue (ADSCs) were injected into the heart muscle (myocardium) of separate groups of laboratory rats that had suffered a myocardial infarction, rats in both groups experienced significantly improved left ventricle function and smaller infarct size after cell therapy, a study has found. The study, carried out by researchers at Oslo University Hospital and the Norwegian Center for Stem cell Research, Oslo University, sought to determine if MSCs from different organs would result in different functional outcomes. "Despite advances in revascularization and medical therapy, acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and heart failure are still important causes of morbidity and mortality in industrialized countries," said study co-author Dr. Jan E. Brinchmann of the Norwegian center for Stem Cell Research at Oslo University Hospital, Oslo. "AMI leads to a permanent loss of contractile elements in the heart and the formation of fibrous scarring. Regeneration of contractile myocardium has been a target of cell therapy for more than a decade," he added. According to Dr. Brinchmann, MSCs tolerate hypoxia, secrete angiogenic factors and have been shown to improve vascularization; thus, they have properties suggesting that they may beneficially impact AMI, chronic … Continue reading

Leading Pain Clinics in Arizona Now Enrolling in Multiple Groundbreaking Pain Studies

Posted: Published on November 8th, 2012

The best pain clinics in Arizona are now enrolling patients in several exciting pain management studies. These studies at Arizona Pain Specialists involve stem cell injections for back pain, arthritis medication effectiveness and side effects, an innovative peripheral nerve stimulation study and a comparison of the Global Pain Scale versus other pain measuring tools. To see if a person is a candidate for any of the studies, call (602) 507-6550. Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 07, 2012 The groundbreaking stem cell injection study for chronic low back pain is an FDA clinical trial. The study is being sponsored by an Australian company, Mesoblast, and involves injecting the stem cell material into degenerative discs that have failed conservative treatment for over six months. With degenerative disc disease having no current regenerative options, stem cell injections have ground breaking potential to restore biologic tissue and reduce pain. Most pain procedures act as a proverbial band aid, offering symptomatic relief for a few months at a time. Stem cells have the potential for regenerating while providing pain relief. The second study being conducted at Arizona Pain Specialists is evaluating several widely used anti-inflammatory arthritis medications, including Celebrex, Aleve and Advil. The effectiveness and side … Continue reading

New Jersey Pain Management Clinic Offers Participation in Knee Arthritis Stem Cell Study

Posted: Published on November 7th, 2012

Bergen Countys Spine and Joint Center is offering NY and NJ patients an opportunity to participate in a unique research study. Bergen County, NJ (PRWEB) November 06, 2012 The study is designed to assess treatment plans involving ASCs, or autologous adipose-derived stromal cells. These cells are non-embryonic, non-controversial stem cells harvested from the patients own adipose (fat) tissue. The cells will be extracted from an adipose tissue sample taken from the patients stomach, mixed with platelet rich plasma (a healing platelet-infused sample of the patients own blood), and administered via injection to the affected joint. The total number and frequency of injections will vary depending on each patients tissue, and the entire study will be carried out over approximately 6 months. Participation in the study is available to men and women ages 18-80 with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis in the knee joint. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition which occurs when cushioning synovial fluid in the joints begins to wear away, impeding mobility and causing chronic pain. While any type of arthritis can be debilitating, osteoarthritis of the knees can interfere heavily with a persons ability to perform daily tasks and live a normal life. Stem cell therapy has taken … Continue reading
