BOOKSHOP owner Jo Batchelor has got well in the swim of fundraising to raise cash for a charity that means much to her whole family.

Jo, who runs Devizes Books, had already completed the equivalent of swimming the channel at the Devizes Leisure Centre pool and then decided to take on the M4 challenge.

Ms Batchelor completed the full 189 distance of the motorway and raised 2,160 for the British Heart Foundation to take her total fundraising to more than 4,000.

She said: My Mum died from heart disease and my Dad, sister and I have been supporters of the BHF for some time.

I enjoy swimming and wanted to set myself a challenge to help raise funds for more research. Im so grateful to everyone who sponsored me and helped me raise such a fantastic amount of money.

Fundraising Manager for Wiltshire Jane Turner said: We want to say a big thank you to Jo for taking on yet another challenge and raising vital funds. Heart diseases are the cause of one in four deaths in the UK.
