LINCROFT, NJ--(Marketwired - December 31, 2014) - Newman Springs Dental Care, a leader in aesthetic dentistry, is collecting presents this holiday season for children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses.

Newman Springs Dental Care, owned by Lincroft dentist Dr. Mitchel Friedman, is one of 12 drop-off locations for this year's present drive for The Believe Project, a New Jersey-based nonprofit that began in 2013.

"This is an amazing facility that treats the most wonderful and brave kids you would ever want to meet," said Dr. Friedman, who provides same day dental implants. "The idea is to bring the magic of Christmas to children who need it the most. Let's make it easier for them. We can't think of a better time of year to give back or a more deserving bunch to give back to. Join with us and donate today."

Last year, Newman Springs Dental Care staff and various organizations contributed more than 350 wrapped presents for boys and girls being treated for cancer and blood disorders at The Valerie Center in Long Branch, N.J. Patients and community members can take part by dropping off a wrapped or unwrapped toy or gift at the Newman Springs Dental Care practice, at 539 Newman Springs Rd, Lincroft, N.J. The Believe Project also accepts child nominations and monetary donations at its website, http://www.thebelieveproject.org.

Dr. Friedman is a 1976 graduate of the Middletown Township Public School System, where his mother, Sheila Friedman Rubin, taught her entire career.

Newman Springs Dental Care is a comprehensive dental practice that focuses on aesthetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implant surgery, full denture implants, temporary dentures, porcelain veneer teeth, restorations, teeth whitening, Invisalign, CEREC same-day crowns, same day dental implants, endodontics, crowns, bridges and preventive care.

Dr. Friedman received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers College and graduated in the top 15 percent of his class from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1984. The Lincroft dentist completed the General Practice Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Friedman is highly recognized as a premier Lincroft cosmetic dentist who is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. To obtain a Master designation, Dr. Friedman first became a Fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry, a process that requires 500 hours in continuing education. For his Master designation, Dr. Friedman took an additional 600 hours of continuing education courses, 400 hours of which required hands-on instruction.

Dr. Friedman holds memberships with the New Jersey Dental Association, American Dental Association, Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society, Crown Council, New Jersey Dental Society of Anesthesia and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He also is an attending doctor and part-time clinical instructor at Monmouth Medical Center.

Dr. Friedman is responsible for bringing the Dentistry From The Heart program to Lincroft, a program that gives those without insurance a free dentist for the day. During the event, professional oral health care workers provide adults with free exams, blood pressure and advanced oral cancer screenings, and digital X-rays at Dr. Friedman's practice. Volunteers treated nearly 90 patients this year, and Dr. Friedman and his dedicated group of volunteers have given away about $390,000 in dental care since the event came to Lincroft in 2007.
