The Wyoming Cowboys have known for some time that their 2013 football schedule will begin in Nebraska to take on the Huskers, but it wasnt until yesterday, April 11, that the league offices released just when and where the Pokes would face their conference foes.

After playing in Lincoln, Neb., the Cowboys will return home to host the Idaho Vandals in the home opener on September 7. This will be one of two consecutive home contests with the other game on September 14 being played against the Northern Colorado Bears.

A potentially rude welcome may be on tap the following week as Wyoming travels to the Air Force Academy to open conference play on September 21 which will be followed up by a trip to San Marcos, Texas to play the Texas State Bobcats who have joined the Sun Belt Conference.

The 2013 season will mark the first year of divisional play within the MWC with Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and UNLV in the West Division.

After an open date on October 5, the Cowboys will once again host back-to-back home games as they play the New Mexico Lobos on October 12 and the Colorado State Rams on October 19.

The Pokes then travel to face new conference foe San Jose State on October 26 before yet another open date on November 2. The regular season wraps up with alternating home and away games. Fresno State and former WAC rival Hawaii will travel to Laramie while Wyoming will play in Boise against the Broncos and finish the season in Logan, Utah against another new conference foe, Utah State on November 30.

The first Mountain West Championship Game will be played on December 7 on the home field of the divisional champion with the highest BCS ranking.
