An important part of good mental health is the ability to look at problems or concerns realistically. Everyone has days when they feel sad, stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed by lifes challenges. If you continue to struggle for several weeks or longer or your symptoms begin interfering with your daily lifeat home, work, school, or in your relationshipsseek help. Talk to someone you trust, such as a family member, friend, bishop, or mental health professional. Addressing mental health concerns early can prevent a crisis in the future. Struggling with your mental health does not indicate a weakness in your character or spirit. Elder Neil L. Andersen reminded us that while ones earthly situation may not be ideal, [ones] spiritual DNA is perfect because ones true identity is as a son or daughter of God (Whoso Receiveth Them, Receiveth Me,EnsignorLiahona, May 2016, 50). Curt Allen, Jr. was a 17 year old man who was involved in a high speed motor vehicle accident in June, 2004, in which he sustained severe traumatic brain injury. Curt was in a coma at the scene of the accident. He was admitted to an acute care hospital, underwent brain surgery to relieve pressure and placed in the ICU in critical condition. After one month he was transferred to a highly regarded post-acute brain injury rehabilitation center in Southeast Louisiana where he remained for 3 months. During these three months he made such minimal progress that he was discharged as a failure of standard intensive traumatic brain injury therapy. The day before discharge from this center his mother attended a local church where she asked the priest to request that the congregation pray for her sons recovery. After the priest fulfilled this request during Mass Mrs. Allen was approached by a physician patient of mine to whom I had delivered low-pressure HBOT years before for his stroke and subsequent traumatic brain injury. My patient referred Mrs. Allen to me and the following week Curt was evaluated at my clinic. The video you will view records the astounding recovery that … Continue reading

Cardiac (comics) – Wikipedia

Posted: Published on August 26th, 2018

Cardiac (Elias Wirtham) is a fictional character, a vigilante anti-hero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer David Michelinie and penciller Erik Larsen, he first appeared as Elias Wirtham in The Amazing Spider-Man #342 (December 1990)[1] and as Cardiac in The Amazing Spider-Man #344 (February, 1991).[2] Wirtham is a physician and surgeon, and the owner and administrator of a biological research firm. Elias Wirtham is driven by his brother's death to research life-saving medical practices. His brother Joshua's death was the result of corporate greed, who had a cure for his condition ready, but did not distribute the medicine due to it not being a "profitable" time for them, hence his motivation against corporations. As a part of his research, Elias replaces his heart with a beta-particle reactor, which supplies energy throughout his body, in addition to a vibranium weave mesh under his skin. This energy, channeled through his muscles, increases his speed, agility, and reflexes, and can also be fired through his fists or the power staff he wields. He adopts the moniker "Cardiac" in reference to the source of his power.[3] Cardiac becomes a vigilante, believing himself an instrument of justice. He first … Continue reading
