Kettering Physician Network Our group of board certified cardiologists and all ancillary support staff are dedicated to provide our patients with quality healthcare and to fulfill our mission statement. Effective February 1, 2011, our practice joined the Kettering Physician Network. We welcome the newest member of our team, Dr. Josephine Randazzo, who joined our practice 9-1-14. Cardiology Specialists of Dayton was formed in 1982 in downtown Dayton. In order to accommodate our growth, we relocated our facility in 2004 to 4160 Little York Road. In 2007 we opened an additional facility at 7677 Yankee Street to enable us to personally provide a wide range of services at two locations for the convenience of our patients and to assure a high level of quality. We offer Nuclear Stress Testing, Echocardiograms, Vascular Ultrasound, Holter/Event Monitoring and provide a dedicated Pacemaker/ICD clinic in conjunction with physician office visits. Division of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology Division of Evolution, Ecology & Behavioral Biology Welcome to the Department of Biology at the University of Louisville. Our diverse and growing department includes 23 faculty members and about 50 graduate students, and it has one of the largest undergraduate programs at the university, with over 850 majors. July 2015 Butterfly count coming soon! Not very large, but strikingly patterned: this hairstreak showed up for the 2014 count. The 37th annual July 4th Butterfly Count will be held at the Horner Wildlife Sanctuary at Brownsboro, KY, on Saturday July 11, 2015. It will be led by Charlie Covell and other members of the Society of Kentucky Lepidopterists. We will meet at 9:30 AM at the parking lot of what was once the Brownsboro general store and eatery, just one mile NW of Exit 14, Highway I-71. This is about 20 miles from Louisville. The count itself will be from 10 AM to 3 PM, but one does not have to stay the whole time. Wear long pants and shirtsleeves, a hat, and bring water, lunch and insect repellant. Stem Cell Research | Catelyn Hill

I thought the TED Talk on stem cell research with Susan Solomon was very boring and was hard to watch. I think that she made some good points about stem cells, and showed how significant they could be in helping to solve different diseases in the future, but I dont think she was enthusiast enough for a TED Talk. I also do not think she did a good job explaining whatstem cells were, orhow they work. She did show different graphics to help explain her points, but I do not think an audience who had little background on the subject would be able to follow the pictures. Unless the entire audience were experts on the subject, I think they would have a very hard time following the presentation. Stem cell research is a very complicated topic, and I dont think this speaker did a very good job of explaining the topic, orkeeping the audience engaged. Although I did not enjoy the TED Talk, I did think the 60 Minute documentary was interesting. This quote, taken from a high school student's submission in a national essay contest, represents just one of countless misconceptions many people have about the basic nature of heredity and how our bodies read the instructions stored in our genetic material (Shaw et al. 2008). Although it is true that half of our genome is inherited from our mother and half from our father, it is certainly not the case that only some of our cells receive instructions from only some of our DNA. Rather, every diploid, nucleated cell in our body contains a full complement of chromosomes, and our specific cellular phenotypes are the result of complex patterns of gene expression and regulation. The Chemistry Department is a dynamic, energetic and growing organization that focuses on giving students the best possible education in the chemical sciences. We are housed in the Science Building, a state-of-the-art facility with labs offering the latest instrumentation and technology.
