Peep, peep, peep. Local residents have a chance to learn about chickens, and even hold recently hatched chicks, during an embryology program at Loma Colorado Main Library this month. Galloping Grace Youth Ranch is providing an incubator with seven eggs people can see at the reference desk through April 29, as well as leading three Wednesday family programs to let attendees meet, hold and learn about chickens. A lot of kids dont necessarily know where their food is coming from, said Galloping Grace Ranch Manager Renee Griffith. Loma Colorado Main Library is hosting an incubator like this one as part of a program with Galloping Grace Youth Ranch during which patrons can learn about chickens. (Courtesy of Loma Colorado Main Library) Library Youth Services Manager Deirdre Caparoso said the programming would let people see and learn about chickens in a relaxed, hands-on setting. The collective experience of waiting for and watching the chicks hatch will create a greater sense of community, Caparoso said.
