VRM: The Autism Report Vaccine Resistance Movement

Posted: Published on January 11th, 2015

Due to the complex nature of Autism Spectrum Disorder a formal definition will be helpful in establishing the parameters of this report; while differentiating the co-factors from other similar conditions. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), considered the standard of current Medical Industry knowledge, provide a typically misleading, white-wash definition of Autism, as follows: Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. People with ASDs handle information in their brain differently than other people. ASDs are spectrum disorders. That means ASDs affect each person in different ways, and can range from very mild to severe. People with ASDs share some similar symptoms, such as problems with social interaction. But there are differences in when the symptoms start, how severe they are, and the exact nature of the symptoms. There are three different types of ASDs: 1. Autistic Disorder (also called classic autism) This is what most people think of when hearing the word autism. People with autistic disorder usually have significant language delays, social and communication challenges, and unusual behaviors and interests. Many people with autistic disorder also have intellectual disability. 2. Asperger Syndrome People with Asperger syndrome usually … Continue reading

Stroke – Treatment – Mayo Clinic

Posted: Published on January 11th, 2015

Mayo Clinic's highly specialized stroke experts will quickly review your test results and determine the best treatment option(s) for you. One way to evaluate quality stroke care is to look at the percentage of patients receiving timely and effective care measures that are appropriate. At all Mayo Clinic campuses, the percentage of eligible Mayo Clinic patients diagnosed with stroke who receive all the appropriate care measures is above the national average. Emergency treatment for stroke depends on whether you're having an ischemic stroke blocking an artery the most common kind or a hemorrhagic stroke that involves bleeding into the brain. To treat an ischemic stroke, your Mayo Clinic stroke care team must quickly restore blood flow to your brain. Emergency treatment with medications. Therapy with clot-busting drugs must start within 3 to 4.5 hours if they're given into the vein and the sooner, the better. Quick treatment not only improves your chances of survival but also may reduce complications. You may be given: Intravenous injection of tissue plasminogen activator (TPA). Some people can benefit from an injection of a recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (TPA), also called alteplase. An injection of TPA is usually given through a vein in the arm. … Continue reading

Breakthrough: Statin treatment reduces risk of cardiovascular disease in women

Posted: Published on January 11th, 2015

A large international study, published in The Lancet, has shown conclusively that statin treatment reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease in women. Whether statin therapy is as effective in women as in men is debated, especially for primary prevention. This study compared the effects of statin therapy between men and women. The research confirms that statins are beneficial not only to women who have already had a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack or stroke, but also in those who -- whilst they have not yet developed cardiovascular disease -- are at an increased risk of such diseases. Lead investigator Anthony Keech, Professor of Medicine, Cardiology and Epidemiology at the University of Sydney said "These results resolve a major uncertainty about the value of treating women with statin therapy, and reinforce the need for recommendations to treat women to be included in national and international guidelines. "It has long been known that, by reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, statin medications prevent heart attacks and strokes in people at risk of these diseases. "However women tend to develop cardiovascular disease later in life than do men, so have been under-represented in most statin trials. As a result, the benefits of … Continue reading
