Greys Anatomy Season 11 Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In Risk?

Posted: Published on November 16th, 2014

Greys Anatomy will air its Season 11 winter finale on Thursday, Nov. 20. And according to the synopsis for episode 8, Risk, Shonda Rhimes, creator behind the hit ABC drama, will be tying up the first part of the installment with a blood-soaked bow. Seriously, nothing screams holiday season like a winter finale TV cliffhanger. Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) disagree with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) about the best way to approach a patients case, which leads to a bigger argument between the couple, the summary begins. Although were kind of bummed to see MerDers relationship veering off course once again -- hey, maybe this leaves room for more shower makeup sex -- the duos disagreement will allow for Ellis (Kate Burton) girls to finally see eye-to-eye on something. Meanwhile, Callie (Sara Ramirez) will face trouble at work when she feels responsible for one of her veteran patients being pushed too far. But the most exciting part of the synopsis was left for last. One of the doctors at Grey Sloan will have a routine procedure go south when results show a devastating diagnosis, the winter finale summary concluded. And from the promo video, we now know a little … Continue reading

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/record/NCT02176317 Umbilical cord blood (UCB) has been shown to lessen the clinical and radiographic impact of hypoxic brain injury and stroke in animal models and in infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. UCB also engrafts and differentiates in the brain, facilitating neural cell repair in animal models and human patients with inborn errors of metabolism undergoing allogeneic, unrelated donor UCB transplantation. Infusion of autologous UCB does not require immunosuppression and has been shown to be safe in young children with brain injuries such as cerebral palsy and stroke. In this study, the investigators hypothesize that infusion of a patients own umbilical cord blood cells (UCB) can offer neural protection/repair in the brain and reduction of inflammation associated with this disorder. DUKE STEM CELL AUTISM TRIAL Theres a lot of skepticism surrounding this trial using cord blood stem cells to treat autism. Apparently, the concerns are: 1. Autism is a name given to a whole host of diseases yet to be named, ie. many different symptoms. Stem cells are part of the natural healing system in the body. They are smart and migrate to fix damaged tissue and cells. Stem cells work within your body in conjunction with your physiology. You can … Continue reading
