Lorna Tolentino, magbabakasyon at magpapa- stem cell therapy pagkatapos ng Pahiram…

Posted: Published on March 16th, 2013

Pangunahing tampok dito sina Lorna Tolentino, Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Alessandra de Rossi, Neil Ryan Sese, at Christopher de Leon. WISH FOR NEXT PROJECT. Pagkatapos ng Pahiram Ng Sandali, ano ang sunod na klase ng project na gusto niyang gawin sa GMA-7 pa rin? Kung sana merong iba naman na ano siyempre kapag mabait na mabait ka, gusto mo naman mas salbahe ka sa susunod, di ba? Para naman medyo may variety, na medyo kakaiba dun sa natapos ko. Sana mabigyan ako ng medyo offbeat naman. Read more: Lorna Tolentino, magbabakasyon at magpapa- stem cell therapy pagkatapos ng Pahiram... … Continue reading

ROCKVILLE, Md., March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Neuralstem, Inc. (NYSE MKT: CUR) today provided an update on its clinical trial programs and reported its 2012 financial results for the year ended December 31, 2012. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20061221/DCTH007LOGO) "2012 saw the company achieve success in all of its Phase I clinical trial objectives," said Karl Johe, Ph.D., Neuralstem's Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientific Officer. "We have been able to demonstrate the safety and tolerability of Neuralstem's novel core technologies, from intraspinal transplantation procedures, to the cells themselves in ALS patients, as well as our NSI-189 neurogenic small molecule drug in healthy volunteers. Additionally, we believe we have seen evidence of a treatment effect in some NSI-566 cell therapy patients over a sustained period of time, as measured by levels of functional recovery and a slowdown in the progression of ALS. In spinal cord injury, a leading peer-reviewed scientific journal, 'CELL,' published compelling evidence that NSI-566 cells can 'bridge the gap' in a severed spinal cord animal model and return functionality. We have recently been approved by the FDA to commence a trial treating chronic spinal cord injury patients. A highlight of 2012 was the completion of our ground-breaking ALS Phase I trial. … Continue reading

How to repair cartilage in osteoarthritis… the role of stem cell matrix – Video

Posted: Published on March 15th, 2013

How to repair cartilage in osteoarthritis... the role of stem cell matrix http://www.stemcellsarthritistreatment.com So I want to tell you something about adult stem cell therapy. Stem cells need something to cling to if they're going to become cartilage. That something is called a matrix or scaffold. So what are the ideal properties of a scaffold? They need to be biocompatible so inflammation doesn't damage the host. Second, they need to have a 3-dimentional shape to allow cell differentiation and multiplication. Third, they need to be porous to allow diffusion of nutrients and oxygen as well as passage of cells. Fourth, the scaffold should permit adhesion or sticking of the stem cells to it. Fifth, the scaffold should participate in the growth process by releasing growth factors. Sixth, the matrix should stick to the host tissue. Seventh, the scaffold must maintain its shape during the growth phase and also degrade during the remodeling phase. Eighth, the scaffold should be able to be implanted using minimally invasive procedures. Only then will a true alternative to knee replacement surgery be possible. http By: Nathan Wei … Continue reading
