Bel Marra Health Reports on a New Study: New Saliva Test Making Breakthroughs in Parkinson’s Disease

Posted: Published on February 11th, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, is reporting on a new study that explains how a new saliva test is making breakthroughs in Parkinsons disease. Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 09, 2013 As Bel Marra Health reports in its article (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/brain-function/the-breakthrough-saliva-test-for-parkinsons-disease/) Parkinsons disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects elderly adults and is characterized by the occurrence of tremors, slow mobility, and a peculiar walk, in which the back is usually arched and the head positioned forward. As the Bel Marra Health article reads, according to a recent medical report published in the journal Translational Neurodegeneration, a saliva test may be helpful in detecting Parkinsons disease based on the presence of a protein called a-synuclein, which is produced by the brain and controls motor functions. The report explained that the amount of this protein is generally lower among Parkinsons patients compared to healthy adults. The saliva test shows great promise in the medical field because this procedure is less invasive compared to the collection of cerebrospinal fluid for protein detection. In addition, the saliva test is relatively easy to perform because patients diagnosed with this neurodegenerative disorder often excessively produce excessive amounts of saliva, resulting … Continue reading

Published Sunday, February 10, 2013, 8:13 AM Updated Sunday, February 10, 2013, 8:13 AM Irish Stem Cell Foundation warns the public to be aware of scams Photo by Google Images Stem Cell therapies offer a source of hope for many patients who otherwise have run out of options. However, lured by the promise of hope, many patients around the world have fallen victim to scam clinics. Now, the Irish Stem Cell Foundation is looking to push forward efforts that would help educate the public not only about stem cell therapies, but also the scams that are becoming too common. Dr. Stephen Sullivan, the chief officer a the ISCF, said that presently, there are only nine safe and effective treatments for illnesses that use stem cells. He added that many trials are underway. "These [therapies] are for two cancers of the blood (leukaemia and lymphoma), some rare blood disorders and two conditions related to the cornea (the front of the eye) and the skin," he told Health and Living. Dr. Sullivan understands the importance of educating the public so that they are informed when making decisions about which therapies to engage in. Adapts to any job: sugar for stem cell arthritis treatment.mp4 http://www.stemcellsarthritistreatment.com Polysaccharides are sugars that play an important role in the structure of matrix material- the stuff that holds cells together. These materials are being investigated as possible stem cell scaffolds. These polysaccharides can be turned into gels rapidly and therefore can be injected into a damaged joint easily. Among these are agarose and alginate which are derived from algae. Hyaluronic acid is already being used as a palliative osteoarthritis treatment but is also considered a possible scaffold. The last polysaccharide is chitosan which has shown excellent results when used in a sheep model of osteoarthritis. http By: Nathan Wei … Continue reading

Estrada, Enrile, Imelda Marcos–how they’re defying age and time with stem-cell therapy

Posted: Published on February 11th, 2013

A growing number of wealthy Filipinos have availed themselves of the four-day, three-night treatment in Germany. Last year alone, the clinic attended to 350 Filipinos DR.GEOFFREY Huertgen, Villa Medicas chief medical director. ALANAH TORRALBA Jumpstarting the regeneration process to achieve longevity, glowing skin and youthful energy are just three of the claimed benefits derived by patients at Villa Medica. The Germany-based holistic clinic specializes in fresh-cell therapy, a form of stem-cell treatment sourced from organs and tissues of unborn lamb. Such claims may sound too good to be true, until you see the likes of former President Joseph Estrada, former first lady Imelda Marcos and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile strutting about and plotting their next political moves like theyre in their prime. Except for Enrile, Marcos and Estrada have nearly endorsed the clinic in Edenkoben, an hours drive south of Frankfurt, by agreeing to have their pictures and brief testimonials used in a Villa Medica brochure. Marcos reportedly started having fresh-cell therapy injections in 1969, less than a decade after Villa Medica opened its doors for business in 1961. But the acknowledged father of fresh-cell therapy, Dr. Paul Niehans, broke ground and started his research in 1931. Dr. Geoffrey … Continue reading
