Pharmacy applicant appealing rejection to city council

The applicant of a retail pharmacy drive-through on West College Avenue has appealed the decision by the Conway Planning Commission and plans to take his case to the Conway City Council during its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the District Court Building. Larry Sparks, who had envisioned turning a compound pharmacy into a small retail store, hit a snag with the commission after problems with one neighbor in the small office mall could not be worked out. At the earlier meeting, Eddie Glover, one of the partners in the building, which has until now housed a compounding pharmacy, said he was asking for a pick up window for a new community retail pharmacy in the current space. A drive-through already exists on the property, but it is not being used at this time. The drive-through would have traffic enter from Dennison and leave on College, but Glover said toward the end of the meeting that he would consider placing the drive-through on the opposite side of the building.
