For the Lady Braves, juniors Hailey Greenwood and Lexi Erickson were named to the list while senior Ridge Hillyard and junior Kohl Battleson were named to the boys list. The Lady Braves finished their season with a (24-4) record, losing their final game in a battle for third place with Torrington while the Braves defeated both defending champion Buffalo and Wheatland before falling in the title game with Torrington this past weekend. Braves All-State Ridge Hillyard: Hillyard adds another all-state honor to his accomplishments for his senior year after being named to the same list for football. Averaging a modest 7.8 points per game, Hillyard led the Braves with 3.4 assists per game and shot over 33 percent from the three-point line. Big games down the stretch including a 21 point effort on in the regional tournament against Lyman and a total of 44 points in leading the Braves to the regional title. Charlie Button, of Dayton Wash., will officially take over as CEO on Monday, May 14, 2012. Charlie will be transitioning from the role of Chief Executive Officer at Columbia County Health System in Dayton, Wash., said Mike Hunsaker, vice president of support services. Charlie has been in this role for our years and has provided leadership resulting in significant growth and stability to the health system. Prior to his work at Columbia County Health System, Button worked as a CFO in hospitals in Alaska, Idaho and Wisconsin. He graduated from Oregon State University and has an MBA from Southern Oregon State University. Charlie will be moving to Star Valley with his wife, Susan, and a daughter, Elise, said Hunsaker. They also have a son, Jaron, who is a Marine stationed in Washington, D.C. According to Hunsaker, there were numerous applicants interested in the position of CEO at Star Valley Medical Center. Katlin Pittman was among the winners of the 2012 VFW and Ladies Auxiliary sponsored Voice of Democracy audio-essay competition, announced March 4 in Washington, D.C. Pittman, a senior at Star Valley High School, placed 11th in the nationwide competition. As a national winner she was the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship. National winners will also be hosted for tours of historic sites in Philadelphia and Valley Forge in June. The theme this year for the audio essay was based on the question, Is There Pride in Serving in the Military. (Please see Pittmans report below.) Pittman earned the trip to Washington after placing first with the same audio-essay in the Wyoming competition earlier the year. While in Washington she joined other essay participants and exchanged information and pins from their respective home communities and states. The highlight of my trip was being able to get to know so many great people from around the country, and the world, while touring D.C. Pittman reported.
