Brianna Salinaro Is Going to 2020 Paralympics For Taekwondo Taekwondo has been in the Olympic Games since 2000, but this Summer, the sport will make its debut at the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo. One of the two athletes from the US who have qualified to compete is Brianna Salinaro, the league's first Taekwondo athlete with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and, accordingly, the first athlete with CP to fight on the world stage. The 25-year-old is out on her bike three or more times a week at Chailey Heritage Futures, a residential centre for people with physical disabilities up to the age of 25, where she stays for several nights a week. She has athetoid cerebral palsy, a condition which causes involuntary movement and means she needs a wheelchair, after being born ten weeks prematurely so she uses an adapted bike with a more supportive seat to be able to go cycling.
