The rhinoplasty surgery is one of the most popular types of cosmetic surgeries in America, however there can be a few risks involved in going through this surgery, such as bleeding and infection. Moreover, many patients who have a traditional rhinoplasty are not happy with their surgical outcome.

Thankfully, Dr. Steven Shu, medical director of Shu Cosmetic Surgery, specializes in minimal invasive and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty procedure uses safe and effective dermal fillers to correct minor aesthetic issues with a patient's nose.

"Patients who aren't pleased with the appearance of their noses, but don't want to undergo a surgical procedure, will benefit from this approach," says Dr.Shu. "Nonsurgical rhinoplasty offers a quick and easy fix for minor imperfections."

When the patients who have a surgical rhinoplasty are not happy with their outcome, they usually go through several more surgeries in an attempt to correct it. However, this can be rather time-consuming and expensive. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is an excellent alternative to revisal surgeries as they are more wallet-friendly and take less time.

It's not the best option if significant structural problems need to be addressed, says Dr. Shu If the patients are not sure if nonsurgical rhinoplasty is a good option for them, a demonstration preview of the non-surgical rhinoplasty option with a saline injection will be performed. The patients can make their decision once the before and after pictures are reviewed.

During a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, Dr. Shu uses one of two injectable dermal fillers - RADIESSE or Juvederm - to reduce the appearance of bumps or make a curved nose appear straighter. The process is relatively painless, quick and comes with no downtime. Patients can usually return to their normal activity immediately after receiving the injections.

Despite nonsurgical rhinoplasty being affordable and non-invasive, there is a drawback to dermal fillers. They will have to be done once a year (RADIESSE may last up to two years), as they do not produce permanent results.
