The Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Day Treatment Program (SCI-D) is an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program designed to provide intense therapy for patients who have had a spinal cord injury (SCI) or similar impairments.

Patients can be referred to the program after their inpatient rehabilitation hospital stay or once they are able to transition from home health. The program is overseen by a medical director, psychologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist and a nurse case manager, all with specialized training in spinal cord injuries. The SCI-D program focuses on managing ongoing medical needs with special attention toward home and community reintegration for those impacted by a SCI.

Patients in the SCI-D program will participate in half- or full-day treatment for a maximum of six hours a day, five days a week, for up to 12 weeks. Once enrolled in the SCI-D program, patients are evaluated and given a personalized treatment plan which includes one-on-one therapy sessions, group classes, education and specialized services, as needed. Throughout the program, the patients will have access to the latest advanced rehabilitation technology, Brooks Adaptive Sports & Recreation, Brooks recreational therapy and community outings.

By offering this program and using the other extensive Brooks services offered, we are striving to empower our patients to achieve their highest level of recovery and participation in life.

Insurance coverage varies. Please contact the SCI-D program for details.
