Chili Bowl at a glance

Friday

Justin Grant of Ione, California, drove off the outside front row on the start then threaded his way through lapped traffic late to win the week's final 30-lap preliminary feature and locked in a spot in Saturdays A feature.

I was trying to pick my (way) through. I know we had a pretty good lead, Grant said of the lapped traffic.

Kyle Cummins of Princeton, Indiana, picked up the second and final transfer spot over NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., who charged from the rear of the field, advancing 15 positions to finish third.

The Golden Driller in front of the River Spirit Expo Center was lit up in pink in honor of Turn the Bowl Pink Night for breast cancer awareness.
