"Grey's Anatomy" fans will get their fill of tear-jerking drama when episode 11 airs Thursday, Feb. 12. According to the synopsis for All I Could Do Was Cry, the upcoming Season 11 installment, named after Etta James hit single, will heavily focus on the story line of Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Aprils (Sarah Drew) baby.
In episode 10 the couple learned that their baby was diagnosed with the life threatening disease osteogenesis imperfecta, which meant the child would be born with brittle bones. If it was determined that the Buddha baby had Type 2 of the disease, Jackson and Aprils son would have a very little, nearly impossible chance at surviving.
Thats when the couple was forced to discuss the grim topic of their childs fate. If the baby was diagnosed with Type 2 the parents argued over whether they would they terminate the fetus or hope for a miracle. While Jackson leaned toward the first option, April clung to her faith. Maybe god wont take him. Maybe itll be a miracle, viewers can hear her saying in the promo video for episode 11.
So, what can fans expect next from this gut-wrenching plotline? Well, according to Jerrika Hinton, who plays the role of Stephanie (Jacksons ex-girlfriend who broke the news to the expecting parents), the fate of the baby will stir up some heated discussions for audiences.
"I'm excited for the debate that the Japril baby's fate is going to bring up," Hinton revealed to E! Online. "It's a smart thing that the writers have done and I'm excited to see what people think of it. It's a real life decision that people have to wrestle with, and this is something Shonda Rhimes [creator] does all the time, reflecting real life issues on screen."
