Murals with a heart, a father’s passion for his family is seen in every piece – WTHR

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WTHR) Most of us could never imagine walking away from a career at 41 to pursue a passion but Adam Long did just that.

About a year ago he discovered a real talent for painting. Not long after, he gave up his career in sales and began painting murals.

Now you can see his work all over. Long painted the Jackie Robinson mural at Diamond Dynamics in Smithville in one day.

He also painted animal murals at Bloom Therapy in Bloomington, which specializes in pediatric therapy. His 9-year-old daughter Lorene Marie Long was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at just six months and is a patient there.

Long knows the transition to a painter has not always been easy on his family.

"We still have those conversations I am not going to lie. We had one just last night," he revealed.

"It can be trying sometimes to try and run a household and your husband paints pictures for a living," said Nicole, his wife.

Long knows what they are sacrificing so every time he makes sure both his wife and daughter are a part of paintings.

He puts a heart in all of them for his wife and his LML for his daughter.
