Chemistry Tapas and Tonics – Virginia Beach, VA – Yelp

Posted: Published on September 1st, 2015

2 check-ins Errrrrrgh, let's talk about Chemistry. I've got to say at a few things about this place. Out of all of the bars associated with The Block, Chemistry is probably my least favorite. Why? Chemistry has the appearance of being a "step up" in class from the other bars at The Block. If you asked someone whom was merely glancing at the three bars, from the outside, which one is the nicest --I guarantee you, every time that person would say Chemistry. But, why? One reason: It's called Chemistry TAPAS and TONICS. The name, itself, emits a classier vibe than The Edge or Sandbar. The employees wear black button-downs and ties. But, honestly, this is the most lackluster place. And, sadly, the one that I wish was my favorite. Every time I've visited Chemistry, I wished that they actually had tapas. Maybe they do. But, I can tell ya; I've been here probably 10+ times and can say that I've never once seen a tapas menu, nor have I seen any pictures of their tapas selection. The caliber of their drink selections is very similar to The Edge or Sandbar ... It's just okay. Definitely nothing to write home … Continue reading

Biology is the study of living organisms, at the cellular, molecular, and group levels. Students exploring this field will get a comprehensive look at life cycles, from food-to-energy conversions, reproduction, and death. Biology students also examine interactions between different classes of organisms, including bacteria, viruses, animals, and humans. Some biologists will focus on population patterns, examining trends within ecosystems that cause species levels to drop or explode. Biology majors can work as lab technicians or scientists in a variety of settings once they graduate. Governments need biologists to study organisms that affect agriculture and human disease control. Physician offices rely on biology and health sciences labs to test blood and tissue samples from patients. And food companies need biologists to test and develop their products to ensure the safest and healthiest food possible. These opportunities make biology a very interesting field to work in, since scientists skills can be put to use across multiple disciplines. Students diving into biology courses as undergraduates will start by examining organisms at the cellular and molecular levels, learning about some of the smaller components of life. From here, students will usually move on to biological classification systems, evolution theory, species histories, and the biology … Continue reading

Non-invasive imaging provides the basis for cardiac diagnosis in most young patients with heart disease. Advances atour hospital intwo- and three-dimensional echocardiographic imaging of the heart allow precise evaluation of structural (congenital) abnormalities of the heart and the provide the basis for most decision-making regarding whether treatment is required and the best possible approach. There is a major commitment to continued advancement in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging at our hospital, and it is a primary focus of training and research. Our non-invasive cardiologists are directly involved in clinical research and the training of echocardiography sonographers, pediatric and adult cardiology fellows, and cardiologists both from the United States as well as around the world. The noninvasive section hosts a variety of educational programs, including an annual echocardiography symposium. Closely related to echocardiography, is the field of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Working in collaboration with the Department of Imaging Services, theDivision of Cardiology has been a leader in the development of this technique for the evaluation of both congenital and acquired forms of heart disease. Fill out a survey and one of our consultants will contact you. Just a Few of the Major Hormones: DHEA DHEA is a very powerful precursor to all of your major sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. It is referred to as the mother hormone. It is produced by the adrenal glands (which are on top of the kidneys). Adrenal fatigue or exhaustion from poor nutrition, yo-yo dieting, physical and emotional stresses; means your adrenals are tired and cant produce enough DHEA. This throws off your hormone production and you feel a general sense of malaise, along with other symptoms of hormonal imbalance how severe depends on how many other demands are being made on your body at the same time. One thing we do know is that adequate levels of DHEA are needed to ensure your body can produce the hormones it needs when it needs them. In that balanced state your … Continue reading
